March Break 2023: Things To Do Near Georgian Bay

It’s March Break 2023 already!? Time really does fly, but have no fear because there is no shortage of fun to be had near Craigleith, Thornbury, Collingwood, and The Blue Mountains!

Wasaga Beach

It’s a classic for a reason. Stretching out to 14 kilometres of sandy waterfront, it’s the world’s largest freshwater beach.

However, it isn’t just volleyball and tanning to look forward to at Wasaga Beach. A massive strip of shopping and food also awaits! Sit down for a delicious burger and fries, before cooling off with an ice cream cone, and heading into one of the countless shops.

Sunset Point

Listen, we understand that when some people hear the word crowd, they run the other way.

Want to soak up some rays at the beach? Want to avoid the hassle of finding a parking spot (and even a spot to lay down your towel) at the more popular beach? Sunset Point might be a better choice.

Located in the Town of Collingwood, it offers volleyball courts, trails, and while it does have a rockier shoreline, there are more than a few spots to swim out and enjoy the bay. You also need to try some delicious fresh-cut fries from The Chipper while you’re there!

Northwinds Beach

Nestled right between Collingwood and Thornbury across from the Craigleith Heritage Depot sits Northwinds Beach.

If you’re hoping to spend some time on the water instead of in it, this beach is for you. It’s incredibly popular with the locals as one of the best spots for kiteboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and other water sports.

Scenic Caves Nature Adventure

History, heritage, and spectacular scenery at Scenic Caves.

Take a step into nature (and back through time) that was once home to the Petun First Nations people. The scenic caves are breathtaking and the 420-foot long (and 82-foot high) suspension bridge will give you the best Instagram-worthy picture you might ever take!

Georgian Hills Vineyard

It just wouldn’t be March Break without a glass of wine!

Personalized wine tasting, a cozy outdoor fire pit, and a rotating menu of delicious food options. They obviously have a fantastic selection of wine and cider to choose from, but we think you really need to try their sweet dessert wines. Since they demand cold weather for the best and sweetest flavour, you might never find one better than at Georgian Hills Vineyard!

Cranberry Golf Course

You didn’t think we would get through an entire March Break list without mentioning golf, right?

With 6,750 yards of expansive fairways, strategic bunkers, and meticulously-manicured greens, Cranberry is a stunning golfing experience for many different skill levels.

They also offer amazing dining options (and Collingwood’s largest patio), along with plenty of stay & play options with Living Water Resorts.

Where will you be spending your March Break 2023?
