2022 Ski Season: Everything You Need To Know

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been eagerly staring out the window, waiting for those first flakes of snow to drop and kick off the 2022 ski season.

However, are you ready for it? We’ve gathered everything you need to know, so you can make the most of your time on the slopes this ski season.

2022 Ski Season Forecast

Ontario has enjoyed some warmer-than-normal temperatures through September and October, and The Weather Network is expecting that to continue through November.

This is definitely a good news, bad news situation. The bad news is that we might be waiting a little longer than usual for significant snowfall. However, the good news is that when the snow does start to fall, we’ll all be enjoying some gorgeous weather on the slopes!

Once we start getting into 2023, it’s expected to get a whole lot colder in Southern Ontario with a heavy amount of snow, but we’re all pretty used to that!

Employee Shortages

We’re not here to weigh in on the reasons, we’re just here to tell you to expect it.

Many businesses are experiencing a workforce shortage and are increasing wages to attract new employees. This cost will likely be reflected in the cost of dining, lodgings, and other activities.

While it’s a good rule of thumb in all situations, being patient and kind will go a long way for the 2022 Ski Season.

Lodgings

Weekend ski trips are fun, but extended stays might be the most popular option this year. With so many work businesses allowing for full-time remote work, there are plenty of people planning to spend the season closer to the action.

This means it might be tougher to book the room you really want. It also means ski rental properties will be a hot item this season, so you may want to get a place as early as possible.
