It’s never a bad time for ice cream! Here’s a list of some of our favourite ice cream shops in the area:
Collingwood
Nicky’s Doughnuts & Ice Cream
A perfect pairing.
All of Nicky’s ice cream is homemade with fresh ingredients that are also sourced locally. They’ve got all the standards like vanilla, chocolate, and mint chocolate (some vegan options too!), but you really need to try their specialty flavours. Our favourites include:
- Rhubarb Strawberry Crisp
- Sweet Corn Blueberry Cream Cheese
- Carrot Cake
Now, if you’ve got a real sweet tooth that just won’t go away, you could always pair a delicious doughnut with your ice cream. Made fresh every day, we unusually go with Toasted Coconut (and an Apple Fritter for good measure).
The Chipper
If you’re planning a day at the waterfront, The Chipper is located right in Sunset Point Beach. You can enjoy some time in the sun, and grab yourself a treat when you need to cool off.
The best part about this place is that you can also grab some pre-ice cream food too (we think they call that “dinner”). Burgers, sandwiches, or a big box of fresh french fries that are perfect for sharing.
For dessert, they’ve got more than enough to choose from:

The Blue Mountains
Little Blue House
A hidden gem that’s not so hidden!
Little Blue House has 21 different flavours of Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream, including a Canadian staple and our absolute favourite, Moose Tracks!
While you’re there, you might notice this isn’t just an ice cream shop. It’s actually a gift and apparel store that also sells ice cream! They’ve got stuff for mom, dad, the kids, and even the dog!
Thornbury
Pom Pom
Besides being fun to say, Pom Pom has over 20 different flavours of ice cream. They always have new flavours coming and going, but some of our favourites they always carry include
- Nanaimo Bar
- Salty Caramel
- Cookie Monster
- Double Double
- White Chocolate Raspberry.
On top of the huge selection of dairy-based ice cream, they also have tons of plant-based vegan options! Just like with dairy flavours, they have seasonal ones that come and go, but these are the ones we always go back for:
